LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating John and Kathleen Spellman upon
the occasion of their designation for special recognition as Irish
Couple of the Year

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, John and Kathleen Spellman have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership,
and consequently have been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late John and Kathleen Spellman upon the occasion of their designation
for special recognition as Irish Couple of the Year; this auspicious
occasion will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the St.
Patrick's Day Dinner Dance, to be held at the Mineola Knights of Colum-
bus in Mineola, New York; and
WHEREAS, An inspiration to many of their fellow citizens who are
grateful for all they have given, John and Kathleen Spellman have been
honored and designated for special recognition as Irish Couple of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which John and Kathleen Spellman have
displayed throughout their life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate John and Kathleen Spellman upon the occasion of their
designation for special recognition as Irish Couple of the Year; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John and Kathleen Spellman.
