LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Joseph A. Teresi, Jr., upon the occasion
of his designation as Geneseean of the Year by the Genesee County Cham-
ber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Joseph A.
Teresi, Jr., upon the occasion of his designation as Geneseean of the
Year by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its
Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Clarion Hotel in Bata-
via, New York; and
WHEREAS, This special event is to also celebrate the Chamber's 39th
Annual Awards Ceremony; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong Batavian, Joseph Teresi is vice president of Tomp-
kins Insurance Agencies; he has spent countless hours in community
service, most notably as an officer and director on the Genesee and
Wyoming YMCA board, as founder and volunteer for the YMCA Challenger
Sports program, as a member of the Notre Dame High School Education
Foundation and as a supporter of the T.F. Brown's/Batavia Lions Club
annual Christmas dinner; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Joseph Teresi is serving as a Division chairperson
for the Genesee Community College annual fund drive, following his
outstanding work as co-chair of the recent Genesee Foundation "Encore"
event; he also played an integral role in helping Genesee ARC reach its
goal during its People Realizing Potential capital campaign; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joseph A. Teresi, Jr., upon the occasion of his designation as
Geneseean of the Year by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joseph A. Teresi, Jr.
