LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Congregation Beth Shalom of Kings Bay
upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Testimonial Dinner on June 24,
2012

WHEREAS, Religious institutions, and the many spiritual, social and
educational benefits they confer, play a vital role in the development
of the moral fabric of a responsible citizenry; and
WHEREAS, It is the tradition of this State and this Nation to pay
tribute to those institutions and individuals who have contributed to
the ethical and spiritual values of their communities; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes pleasure in commending Congre-
gation Beth Shalom of Kings Bay upon the occasion of hosting its Annual
Testimonial Dinner on Sunday, June 24, 2012, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, On this most auspicious occasion, Congregation Beth Shalom
will honor its past president, David Tauzowicz, for his many years of
dedicated service to the Beth Shalom community; and
WHEREAS, David Tauzowicz and his family moved to the Sheepshead Bay
neighborhood in 1994, and soon joined Congregation Beth Shalom of Kings
Bay; and
WHEREAS, Gradually, David Tauzowicz became involved in the congre-
gation, using his knowledge and background in an effort to make the
synagogue a more welcoming place; and
WHEREAS, In 2004, David Tauzowicz became president of the congregation
and has faithfully served this flourishing congregation for the past
eight years; and
WHEREAS, Congregation Beth Shalom of Kings Bay stands on the threshold
of tomorrow, prepared to meet the challenges of the coming decades while
retaining that spiritual resolve which characterizes its past; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
enduring religious institutions and to bring such institutions to the
attention of the people of this Empire State; now; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Congregation Beth Shalom of Kings Bay upon the occasion of host-
ing its Annual Testimonial Dinner on June 24, 2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Congregation Beth Shalom of Kings Bay, New York, and David
Tauzowicz.
