LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Anchor Glass Container Corporation
upon the occasion of the celebration of 100 years of its Elmira Plant's
operation in Chemung County

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor businesses in
the State of New York which distinguish themselves through outstanding
professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring commitment to
their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is with great pride that this Legislative Body
honors the Anchor Glass Container Corporation upon the occasion of the
celebration of 100 years of its Elmira Plant's operation in Chemung
County; and
WHEREAS, The Anchor Glass Elmira Plant produces more than 2.9 million
glass containers for the food, beer, and beverage markets every day,
many of which are shipped to Upstate New York customers; and
WHEREAS, The Elmira Plant employs more than 300 people, who are
represented by three unions and the Management Team; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to meeting its customer product, quality, service
and pricing needs and steadfastly committed to excellence and success,
the Anchor Glass Container Corporation works diligently and creatively
to build, nurture, and support its customers, employees, and local
communities helping it to sustain a respected and welcome presence
throughout the Elmira and Chemung County area and New York State; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its proud history, the Anchor Glass Container
Corporation has been characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all its endeavors on behalf of the company, its clients and community;
and
WHEREAS, A valued and involved member of the Elmira and Chemung County
communities, as part of its participation in the "Made in Chemung Coun-
ty" Business Before Business Series Anchor Glass Container has invited
the community to tour its facility on the morning of June 5, 2012; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges the Anchor Glass Container Corporation's success, recognizes its
contributions, and extends its highest commendation to the company and
its employees, fully confident that in its future it will enjoy the same
success which has characterized its past; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Anchor Glass Container Corporation upon the occasion of the
celebration of 100 years of its Elmira Plant's operation in Chemung
County; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Anchor Glass Container Corporation.
