LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Erna Morgan McReynolds upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the Eugene A. Bettiol, Jr. Distin-
guished Citizen Award by the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Erna
Morgan McReynolds upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Eugene A. Bettiol, Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award by the Otsego
County Chamber of Commerce; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated
at the Chamber's Annual Banquet and Celebration of Business, to be held
on Saturday, April 16, 2011, in the Hunt Union Ballroom on the SUNY
Oneonta Campus; and
WHEREAS, Managing Director --- Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley
Smith Barney, and head of the Morgan McReynolds Group, Erna Morgan
McReynolds is the recipient of the 7th Annual Eugene A. Bettiol, Jr.
Distinguished Citizen Award; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Association of Professional Investment
Consultants, Erna Morgan McReynolds assists in advising foreign govern-
ments on their social security funds in addition to managing assets for
individuals, universities, foundations and endowments; and
WHEREAS, In 2005, Erna Morgan McReynolds was nominated by RESEARCH
MAGAZINE as Woman Financial Consultant of the Year; in 2008, 2009 and
2010, she was named to BARRON'S prestigious "Top 100 Women Financial
Advisor's" list and to its "Top 1000 Advisor's" list in 2009; and
WHEREAS, An active member of the Otsego-Delaware community, Erna
Morgan McReynolds helped found the Executive Service Corps of Otsego and
Delaware counties; she also chaired the United Way of Delaware and Otse-
go counties; and
WHEREAS, Erna Morgan McReynolds has served on the boards of The Otsego
Chamber, Orpheus Theatre, Indian Hills Girl Scout Advisory Council,
Catskill Symphony Orchestra, Friends of Bassett, Hartwick College and
Rotary; and
WHEREAS, With her husband, Tom Morgan, Erna Morgan McReynolds has been
actively involved in fundraising for the Franklin Stage Company and
Catskill Area Hospice; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Erna Morgan McReynolds
has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of her colleagues, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Erna Morgan McReynolds has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Erna Morgan McReynolds upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Eugene A. Bettiol, Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award by
the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Erna Morgan McReynolds.
