LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Poestenkill Library upon the occa-
sion of celebrating the 10th Anniversary of its opening at its current
location, 9 Plank Road, Poestenkill, New York
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of communities across the great State of New York
is reflective of certain exemplary institutions whose purpose is dedi-
cated to serving the community and the needs of its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Poestenkill Library upon the occasion of celebrating the 10th Anni-
versary of its opening at its current location on April 30th, 2011; and
WHEREAS, This special event is to honor everyone who has assisted and
supported the Library through the transition of its being located in the
basement of the Town Hall building to its current location of 9 Plank
Road; and
WHEREAS, nestled in the rural, rolling countryside of Rensselaer Coun-
ty is the town of Poestenkill; here you will find individuals and fami-
lies searching for just the right book to use for research or read for
pleasure; they may be looking for an audio book or music CD, a good
movie to watch or need to access the Internet; you may find a parent
reading to a child in the bright, new children's room; a patron looking
at a magazine upstairs in the reading nook; or in fair weather, a neigh-
bor in the rocking chair on the front porch; and
WHEREAS, The success enjoyed by the Poestenkill Library is in direct
correlation to the efforts of many individuals who have supported the
development of the Library over the years; and
WHEREAS, The Poestenkill Library continues to work toward making its
facility accessible and offering materials in a variety of formats to
serve all members of the community; and
WHEREAS, Ably led by its Director, Margie Morris, and Board of Trus-
tees President, LouAnne Lundgren, and rooted in a proud and distin-
guished history, the Poestenkill Library may take just pride in its
purposeful growth, as it looks forward to continuing to serve the educa-
tional, cultural and intellectual needs of the community; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Poestenkill Library upon the occasion of the 10th Anniver-
sary of its opening at its current location; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Margie Morris, Director, Poestenkill Library.
