LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Students in Free Enterprise
program of Monroe College for its dedicated service to the students of
Monroe College and the community

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Students in Free Enterprise program of Monroe College for its dedi-
cated service to the students of Monroe College and the community; and
WHEREAS, The Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) brings together a
diverse network of university students, academic professionals and
industry leaders around the shared mission of creating a better, more
sustainable world through the positive power of business; and
WHEREAS, By contributing their talents to projects that improve the
lives of people worldwide, SIFE participants are demonstrating that
individuals with knowledge and a passion for business can be a powerful
force for change; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2003, the Monroe College SIFE Team gives
students the tools to learn the free enterprise system in real working
situations; SIFE challenges students to take what they learn in the
classroom and use that knowledge to better their communities; and
WHEREAS, The goals of the Monroe College SIFE program are to continue
evolving positive change in its community by increasing business part-
nerships; to heighten community awareness, foster citizen empowerment
and further economic, social, and environmental causes; and to increase
its programs sustainability; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Students in Free Enterprise program of Monroe College for
its dedicated service to the students of Monroe College and the communi-
ty; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Students in Free Enterprise program of Monroe College.
