LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Keith Chadwick upon the occasion of his
retirement after 36 years of distinguished service to United Methodist
Homes, December 31, 2012

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Keith Chadwick upon the occasion of his retirement after 36 years of
distinguished service to United Methodist Homes on Monday, December 31,
2012; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Binghamton High School, Keith Chadwick received
both his bachelor's degree and master's degree from Binghamton Universi-
ty; and
WHEREAS, Keith Chadwick honorably served his country as a member of
the United States Army Reserve from 1972-1978 where he was both a
sergeant and a drill instructor; and
WHEREAS, In 1976, Keith Chadwick began his career as an administrator
for United Methodist Homes on the Hilltop Campus in Johnson City; at the
age of 28, he was hired as the Chief Executive Officer for United Metho-
dist Homes; and
WHEREAS, For the past 36 years, Keith Chadwick has rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to United Methodist Homes; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as President and CEO, Keith Chadwick served
with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Keith Chadwick was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with United Methodist Homes Keith Chadwick
earned the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Keith Chadwick has been the recipient of numerous awards and
accolades including NYAHSA's Thomas Clarke Award for Young Administrator
of the Year in 1986, AAHSA's Meritorious Service Award in 1994, and
NYAHSA's Lawrence E. Larson Award in 2004; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his impressive career, Keith Chadwick has been
a devoted member of his community, serving on many boards and committees
including the Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church; the
Kalurah Shrine; the Community Foundation of South Central New York; the
Binghamton University Foundation Board; and the Southern Tier Health
Link Board of Directors, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Gail, and their three
children, Brian, Benjamin and Sara, as well as their grandchildren,
Mikala, Alexa, Carter and Marlee, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Keith Chadwick upon the occasion of his retirement after 36 years
of distinguished service to United Methodist Homes; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Keith Chadwick.
