LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Melissa Kubenik upon the occasion of
her selection as a Young Professional Up and Comer in the Business
Community by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT Special Edition
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Melissa Kubenik has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr.
Melissa Kubenik upon the occasion of her selection as a Young Profes-
sional Up and Comer in the Business Community by the SULLIVAN COUNTY
DEMOCRAT Special Edition; and
WHEREAS, A Jefferson-Youngsville Central School graduate, Melissa
Kubenik enrolled at Cornell University where she volunteered at a non-
profit women's organization; it was at this time that she discovered her
passion for helping women in need, and decided to pursue a career in
women's health; and
WHEREAS, Upon receiving her bachelor's degree from Cornell University,
Melissa Kubenik studied obstetrics and gynecology at Syracuse Universi-
ty, and completed her post graduate residency training at Pittsburgh
University; and
WHEREAS, In 2011, Dr. Melissa Kubenik, at 32 years old, earned an
OB/GYN position at Crystal Run Healthcare in Rock Hill, New York; her
job requires her to treat patients in an office environment, as well as
deliver babies and perform surgeries at the Catskill Regional Medical
Center in Harris, New York; and
WHEREAS, When this exemplary young woman is not serving the community
with her medical expertise, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending
time with her loving family; she is married to Jared Kubenik with whom
she has one daughter, Lila; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Melissa Kubenik upon the occasion of her selection as a Young
Professional Up and Comer in the Business Community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Melissa Kubenik.
