LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Christy Bunkoff upon the occasion of
being crowned the 2013 Mother of the Year at the Annual Tulip Festival

WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons who provide
exemplary service, whether through participation in voluntary programs,
through unique personal achievement in their profession or other endeav-
ors, or simply through a lifetime of good citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Christy
Bunkoff upon the occasion of being crowned the 2013 Mother of the Year
at the Annual Tulip Festival in Washington Park, Albany, New York, on
May 10-12, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Sunday, May 12, 2013, featured the crowning of the Mother of
the Year; Washington Park attracted a huge crowd for the event, despite
the gloomy weather; many families, especially mothers and their children
came out to take in the beauty of the tulips; and
WHEREAS, Christy Bunkoff, a resident of Watervliet, was crowned Mother
of the Year; she was one of more than 70 mothers nominated for the honor
in the Capital Region; and
WHEREAS, The selection process from a special panel took various
credentials into consideration; Christy Bunkoff brought her family and
friends along for the event, including a day where her daughter, Emma,
celebrated her 11th birthday; and
WHEREAS, In embodying the highest ideals of kindness and humanity,
Christy Bunkoff is truly part of the lifeblood of her community and the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Christy Bunkoff upon the occasion of being crowned the 2013 Mother
of the Year at the Annual Tulip Festival; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Christy Bunkoff.
