LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Constance Griffin upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the 2013 New York State School Nurse of
the Year Award by the New York State Nurses Association

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those nurses from this great Empire State who have distin-
guished themselves through professional excellence and made significant
contributions to the quality of life of its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Constance Griffin upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2013 New York State School Nurse of the Year Award by the New York
State Nurses Association; and
WHEREAS, Constance Griffin, a married mother of three from Crawford,
New York, has served as the school nurse at Maybrook Elementary School
in the Valley Central School District for 19 years; and
WHEREAS, The New York State Nurses Association chose Constance Griffin
based on strict criteria, including her strong leadership and profes-
sionalism; and
WHEREAS, In addition to this prestigious honor, Constance Griffin will
be presented with the award for being the 2013 National School Nurse of
the Year for New York, at a gathering of the National School Nurse Asso-
ciation in Orlando, Florida; and
WHEREAS, Constance Griffin has earned the respect and admiration of
her fellow employees with her dedication to providing quality health
care to the children of Maybrook Elementary School; throughout the
entire period of her distinguished career, she has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Constance Griffin has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Constance Griffin upon the occasion of her designation as recipi-
ent of the 2013 New York State School Nurse of the Year Award by the New
York State Nurses Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Constance Griffin.
