LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jocelyn Arndt upon the occasion of her
designation as 2013 Salutatorian of the Fort Plain Central School
District

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jocelyn Arndt
upon the occasion of her designation as 2013 Salutatorian of the Fort
Plain Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Jocelyn Arndt, daughter of Theodore and Lizabeth Arndt, has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and
WHEREAS, In addition to this esteemed honor, Jocelyn Arndt is also the
recipient of the DAR Citizenship Award, and the National Merit Scholar-
ship Program Commended Student; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Jocelyn Arndt
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Jocelyn Arndt is a member of Chorus, Harmony, Band, and Jazz
Band, as well as the National Honor Society Vice-President, SACC Presi-
dent, Student Council President, Class of 2013 Vice-President, and a
peer mentor; she played soccer and golf; and
WHEREAS, Jocelyn Arndt may stand with pride in her achievements, expe-
riencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accomplish-
ments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she continues
her education; she will attend Harvard University in the Fall to study
Biology and English; and
WHEREAS, Jocelyn Arndt represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jocelyn Arndt upon the occasion of her designation as 2013 Saluta-
torian of the Fort Plain Central School District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jocelyn Arndt.
