LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Chandrawattie Puran upon the occasion of
her designation as 2013 Salutatorian of Business, Computer Applications
& Entrepreneurship High School
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Chandrawattie
Puran upon the occasion of her designation as 2013 Salutatorian of Busi-
ness, Computer Applications & Entrepreneurship High School; and
WHEREAS, Academically, Chandrawattie Puran has distinguished herself
as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and maturity, estab-
lishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life,
and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Chandrawattie
Puran has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Born in Guyana, Chandrawattie Puran came to the United States
as a teenager; she is a member of the National Honor Society, and Year-
book Committee; and
WHEREAS, Chandrawattie Puran may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; she will attend York College in the Fall to
pursue a degree in Nursing; and
WHEREAS, Chandrawattie Puran represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chandrawattie Puran upon the occasion of her designation as 2013
Salutatorian of Business, Computer Applications & Entrepreneurship High
School; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Chandrawattie Puran.
