LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Patricia Banfield Williams upon the
occasion of her retirement after 27 years of distinguished service to
the Ronald H. Brown School

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, The future success of our State and Nation is dependent upon
individuals such as Patricia Banfield Williams, who dedicate their lives
as educators, nurturing our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Patricia
Banfield Williams upon the occasion of her retirement after 27 years of
distinguished service to the Ronald H. Brown School; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Banfield Williams has served in many capacities
throughout her illustrious career; she has taught students from pre-kin-
dergarten through adult education, and served as Chapter Delegate and
Leader to her pedagogue at Ronald H. Brown School; and
WHEREAS, Serving the community as a Community School Coordinator for
seven years, Patricia Banfield Williams maintained a program that built
capacity in students' academic achievement and parental involvement;
this position allowed her to address the holistic needs of the school's
community; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, under the auspices of the United Federation of
Teachers and the New York City Department of Education, Patricia
Banfield Williams provided professional development for teachers; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Rabbi Eliyahu Ben
Yehudah, and her two sons, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and in the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those civic-minded community members who dedicate their lives
and career to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Patricia Banfield Williams has brought
an uncompromising standard of excellence to her work and a warm sense of
caring and concern to every person she educates; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Patricia Banfield Williams upon the occasion of her retirement
after 27 years of distinguished service to the Ronald H. Brown School;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Patricia Banfield Williams.
