LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Suzanne Williams upon the occasion of
her retirement after 30 years of distinguished service as an educator

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, The future success of our State and Nation is dependent upon
individuals such as Suzanne Williams, who dedicate their lives as educa-
tors, nurturing our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Suzanne
Williams upon the occasion of her retirement after 30 years of distin-
guished service as an educator to be celebrated on her last day of
teaching at PS/IS 116 William C. Hughley, on Tuesday, June 25, 2013; and
WHEREAS, An educator with the Department of Education, Suzanne
Williams has made a difference in the lives of the children, staff, and
parents she has worked with throughout her illustrious career; and
WHEREAS, A mentor to many, and with a strong commitment to the PS/IS
116 William C. Hughley community, Suzanne Williams was extremely crea-
tive and artistic; in addition, she collaborated with the Parent Coordi-
nator conducting art workshops for the parents of her students; and
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and in the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those civic-minded community members who dedicate their lives
and career to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Suzanne Williams has brought an uncom-
promising standard of excellence to her work and a warm sense of caring
and concern to every young person she educates; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Suzanne Williams upon the occasion of her retirement after 30
years of distinguished service as an educator; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Suzanne Williams.
