LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union
upon the occasion of celebrating its 50th Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality and
character of life in this great Empire State are indelibly enriched by
the faithful efforts of those financial institutions and their leader-
ship that devote their purpose to promoting economic vitality and serv-
ing the public; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union upon the occasion of celebrating
its 50th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Founded by 10 members in 1963 as IBM Poughkeepsie Employees
Federal Credit Union, the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (HVFCU) now
serves more than 267,000 members in four counties; and
WHEREAS, After 50 years of service, the guiding principle of "people
helping people" still remains the credit union's philosophy; as the
needs of its members grow and evolve, HVFCU strives to deliver excellent
service while maintaining a safe and secure financial environment; and
WHEREAS, Today, HVFCU is a full service not-for-profit financial coop-
erative; business owners of the Hudson Valley rely on HVFCU's local
expertise and superior service; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, HVFCU extends membership and financial services
to neighbors who live, work, worship, volunteer, or attend school in the
counties of Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, and Putnam; and
WHEREAS, With 20 branches in the Hudson Valley, HVFCU employs more
than 850 individuals, and has been voted one of the Best Companies to
work for in New York State for the past four years; and
WHEREAS, It is custom of this Legislative Body that when institutions
of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of the
great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union upon the occasion of
celebrating its 50th Anniversary, fully confident that it will continue
to enjoy the sparkling success it has experienced thus far; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.
