LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Karen P. Gualtieri upon the occasion
of her retirement after 16 years of distinguished service to Rockland
Community College

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Karen P. Gualtieri has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Karen P.
Gualtieri upon the occasion of her retirement after 16 years of distin-
guished service to Rockland Community College; and
WHEREAS, After receiving her Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude, as well
as her Master's of Public Administration from Ohio State University,
Karen P. Gualtieri worked for Orange County Community College as Assist-
ant to the Dean for Academic Services, and as a Management
Analyst/Health Care Planner with the Veterans Administration; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure at Rockland Community College, she served
as Registrar, Dean of Enrollment Management, and, since October of 2010,
as Vice-President of Student Services; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her husband, Anthony, who feels
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoices in her achievements;
and
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and in the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those civic-minded community members who dedicate their lives
and career to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Karen P. Gualtieri has brought an
uncompromising standard of excellence to her work and a warm sense of
caring and concern to all those she served and befriended; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Karen P. Gualtieri upon the occasion of her retirement after 16
years of distinguished service to Rockland Community College; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Karen P. Gualtieri.
