LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Angel Flight Northeast upon the occa-
sion of celebrating 15 years of dedicated service, and recognizing its
many compassionate and generous deeds
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Angel Flight Northeast upon the occasion of celebrating 15 years of
dedicated service, and recognizing its many compassionate and generous
deeds; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Larry Camerlin, Angel Flight Northeast is cele-
brating 15 years of service to the courageous men, women and children
with a serious illness but with an incredible will to live; and
WHEREAS, Angel Flight Northeast flies these people to hospitals so
they can receive the critical care they need; and
WHEREAS, Angel Flight Northeast has answered over 45,000 flight
requests and have flown over nine million miles in their efforts to
prolong and enhance life; and
WHEREAS, Angel Flight Northeast has never turned away a request; and
WHEREAS, Angel Flight Northeast has been able to provide free flights
due to the generous support of donors and volunteers who donate their
time, planes, fuel, and resources; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Angel Flight Northeast has been responsive in
times of crisis such as terrorist attacks, relief efforts, and has
become a vital mode for carrying organs and blood for patients awaiting
transplants, and others in great need; and
WHEREAS, All Angel Flights are offered completely free to the passen-
ger; and
WHEREAS, All Angel Flights are in private aircraft, by volunteer
pilots who donate their time, talent, airplane, fuel, and operating
expense; and
WHEREAS, Angel Flight Northeast is proud of its nearly 1,000 volunteer
trained pilots; and
WHEREAS, Angel Flight Northeast offers service to nine states, includ-
ing: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New
York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont; and
WHEREAS, Angel Flight Northeast has previously received recognition
from "The Today Show" and "CNN"; this vital organization has also been
the recipient of National Child Labor Committee's Special Lewis Hine
Award, was named the 2010 Family Advocate of the Year by BOSTON PARENTS
PAPER, and recognized with the Hero Among Us Award; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Angel Flight Northeast upon the occasion of celebrating 15 years
of dedicated service, and to recognize its many compassionate and gener-
ous deeds; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Founder Larry Camerlin, Angel Flight Northeast.
