LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 25th Anniversary of The
Nottingham Senior Living Community, Jamesville, New York
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose purposeful
endeavors serve to enhance the quality of life for the cherished senior
citizens in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of The Nottingham, a senior living
community, Jamesville, New York; to celebrate this auspicious occasion,
a formal recognition was held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at The
Nottingham in Jamesville, New York, which featured presentations, music,
and an art display by residents and staff; and
WHEREAS, The Nottingham, which is part of the Loretto community of
senior care facilities, opened on October 9, 1988, in Jamesville, New
York; and
WHEREAS, The Nottingham has provided quality senior living options in
a community setting that includes cottages, independent and enriched
living apartments, and skilled nursing care; and
WHEREAS, In 1996, The Nottingham expanded by adding 14 units of
Enriched Housing and a 40 bed Residential Health Care Facility to better
serve and accommodate more elderly residents; and
WHEREAS, Senior living communities, such as The Nottingham, play a
vital role by providing senior citizens with an active and community-
centered lifestyle; and
WHEREAS, The residents of The Nottingham enjoy the comforts of home
and various social activities and events, while maintaining their inde-
pendence; and
WHEREAS, Over the past 25 years, The Nottingham has continued to grow
and has helped improve the quality of life for senior citizens by
providing them with a sense of security and a variety of accommodations;
and
WHEREAS, This significant milestone is an excellent opportunity to
recognize the special contributions of The Nottingham and the dedicated
individuals who strive to better the quality of life for senior citizens
in the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
recognize and congratulate all of the staff and residents at The
Nottingham upon the occasion of celebrating its 25th Anniversary; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jennifer Ingerson, Executive Director, The Nottingham.
