LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Baldwinsville Central School
District upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the New
York Sportswriter Association Kerr Cup All-Sport Championship Award
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive team sports can be
achieved only through dedication, strenuous practice, teamwork, and
devoted coaching staffs; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
school teams within our community that, by achieving outstanding success
in athletic competition, have inspired and brought pride to their school
district and community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor
the Baldwinsville Central School District upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the New York Sportswriter Association Kerr
Cup All-Sport Championship Award; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success and developing a sense of
fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, The Baldwinsville Central School District in Baldwinsville,
New York, compiled the most points in the statewide competition for boys
and girls sports in a group of more than 600 NYSPHSAA schools; and
WHEREAS, Using a points system from 28 boys and girls teams, the Bald-
winsville Central School District captured first place with 43.5 Kerr
Cup Points, holding off Maine-Endwell (43.33 points), Fort Ann (40
points) and Saratoga (40 points), in an incredibly close competition;
and
WHEREAS, The Baldwinsville Central School District had numerous
athletic achievements during the 2012/2013 school year: the varsity
baseball team won the Class AA State Championship, the varsity girls
lacrosse team was the Class A State runner-up, the varsity girls and
boys volleyball teams reached the state tournament, the girls Junior 8
and girls Junior 4 plus coxswain won State Rowing Championships, the
wrestling team won the Section III Championship, the Track and Field
team placed at the Indoor State Track and Field Championships, and many
individual accolades; and
WHEREAS, Members of the Baldwinsville Central School District's
athletic teams worked tirelessly to achieve success under first year
Athletic Director, Christopher Campolieta; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the 2012/2013 high school athletic season, members
of the 28 boys and girls teams of the Baldwinsville Central School
District were always loyally and enthusiastically supported by family,
friends and fans from throughout the entire community; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Baldwinsville Central School District upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the New York Sportswriter Association Kerr
Cup All-Sport Championship Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Christopher Campolieta, Athletic Director, and Jeanne Dangle,
School Superintendent of the Baldwinsville Central School District.
