LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Jake T. LeDoux upon the occasion
of being selected as a finalist for the National FFA Proficiency Award
in Poultry Production-Entrepreneurship/Placement
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Jake T. LeDoux upon the occasion of being selected as a finalist
for the National FFA Proficiency Award in Poultry
Production-Entrepreneurship/Placement; and
WHEREAS, Jake LeDoux is one of only four finalists for the auspicious
award given at the National FFA convention and expo in Louisville,
Kentucky, during the week of October 30 to November 2, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Finalists were recognized for their outstanding student
achievement in agribusiness gained through the establishment of a new
business, working for an existing company, or otherwise gaining hands-on
career experience through his diligence and rigorous efforts; and
WHEREAS, Jake LeDoux, a senior at the Beaver River Central School, is
a member of the Beaver River FFA Chapter in Beaver Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Jake LeDoux serves as the New York State FFA Asso-
ciation Vice-President; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable young man lives on a diversified livestock
farm, and at his suggestion, poultry was added to the beef and lamb
previously raised on the farm; and
WHEREAS, He added 1,500 broilers over three years, selling them at
local farmers markets, as well as 600 broilers and 106 turkeys in one
year; and
WHEREAS, Jake LeDoux has plans to attend college to study Interna-
tional Agricultural and Agri-Science; and
WHEREAS, The National FFA is dedicated to making a positive difference
in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier lead-
ership, personal growth and career success through agricultural educa-
tion to 579,678 student members in grades seven to twelve, who belong to
one of 7,570 local FFA chapters throughout the United States, Puerto
Rico and the Virgin Islands; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has lived up to FFA's ideals and
has attained all of the necessary achievements, including completion of
a community service project, which was successfully planned, developed
and executed; and
WHEREAS, Jake LeDoux is a credit to his family, his school, his commu-
nity, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be filled
with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Jake LeDoux upon the occasion of being selected
as a finalist for the National FFA Proficiency Award in Poultry
Production-Entrepreneurship/Placement; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jake LeDoux.
