LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Alfred D. Culliton upon the occasion of
his retirement after more than 21 years of distinguished service to Erie
County Industrial Development Agency

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Alfred D.
Culliton upon the occasion of his retirement after more than 21 years of
distinguished service to Erie County Industrial Development Agency; and
WHEREAS, As Chief Operating Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer
of the Erie County Industrial Development Agency, Alfred D. Culliton has
shown extraordinary efforts on behalf of Erie County and Western New
York; and
WHEREAS, Alfred D. Culliton has been a tireless advocate for the past
two decades for economic development in Erie County, particularly in the
areas of small and minority-owned businesses; and
WHEREAS, The economic progress and continuing successes in Erie County
are in no small part a result of Alfred D. Culliton's outstanding work,
which has been previously recognized by the New York State Economic
Development Council in being named the 2011 Economic Developer of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, Alfred D. Culliton rendered faithful, conscientious and valu-
able service to Erie County Industrial Development Agency; in his capac-
ity as Chief Operating Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer, he
served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Alfred D. Culliton was governed by a
keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems,
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Alfred D. Culliton has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alfred D. Culliton upon the occasion of his retirement after more
than 21 years of distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Alfred D. Culliton.
