LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Kayuta Drive-In upon the occasion of
celebrating its 50th Anniversary

WHEREAS, Within each community of this great State of New York there are
certain businesses that define the nature of the region and the people
who inhabit it; and
WHEREAS, Such is true of Kayuta Drive-In, located on Route 12, in the
town of Alder Creek, New York, which has provided nourishment and
employment for residents in the North Country for 50 years; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to commend Kayuta Drive-In
upon the occasion of celebrating its 50th Anniversary; an Anniversary
Party attended by family and many former employees was held on Saturday,
June 22, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Fifty years ago, Jim and Carol Minosh, a young married
couple, purchased the business, dubbing it Kayuta Drive-In; and
WHEREAS, Kayuta Drive-In is a family affair; 1963 also saw the birth
of Jim and Carol Minosh's daughter, Lynn; their son, Jay was born two
years later, and both grew up working in the family's restaurant; and
WHEREAS, The Minosh family has always hired young people from the
community to work at Kayuta Drive-In; and
WHEREAS, Kayuta Drive-In's numerous former employees continue to
express their gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to work for
good people in a fun environment, while paying their way through
college; and
WHEREAS, Kayuta Drive-In is also beloved for its famous delicious
homemade pies; and
WHEREAS, For 50 years, the owners and employees of Kayuta Drive-In
have brought an uncommon sense of quality and spirit to the community,
providing Alder Creek not only with good food, but also with good old-
fashioned memories to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, It is fitting that this Legislative Body recognize local
businesses such as Kayuta Drive-In which have become institutions in the
community, as well as the successful entrepreneurs who have nurtured
them throughout the years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Kayuta Drive-In upon the occasion of celebrating its 50th Anni-
versary, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the same success
and spirit which has so characterized its past; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kayuta Drive-In.
