LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Monnat &
Nortz Service Station, of Croghan, New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
small businesses within the State of New York that contribute to the
economic health and vitality of the communities they serve; and
WHEREAS, For 60 years, Monnat & Nortz Service Station, of Croghan, New
York, has served its customers with an exceptional level of industry and
excellence that is second to none; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the 60th
Anniversary of Monnat & Nortz Service Station, noting the significance
of its remarkable longevity, and its long-standing commitment to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Monnat & Nortz Service Station, also known as Monnat & Nortz
Mobil, provides 24-hour fuel and diesel service to the residents of
Lewis County; and
WHEREAS, This well-respected business was established in 1953 when
Gilbert Monnat and Howard Nortz formed the Monnat & Nortz partnership;
and
WHEREAS, From the earliest days of its founding, Monnat & Nortz Mobil
has been characterized by exceptional customer service; and
WHEREAS, Patrons of Monnat & Nortz Mobil receive friendly, courteous
and comprehensive treatment as station attendants offer to wash their
windshields and check their oil while pumping gas, allowing customers
the luxury of remaining in their vehicles, secure in the knowledge that
they are being well taken care of; and
WHEREAS, Monnat & Nortz Mobil remains a family enterprise; current
owners Steve and Peter Monnat, as well as their loyal and dedicated
employees, proudly continue the tradition of excellent service that has
made this company a success for the past six decades; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses such as Monnat & Nortz Mobil exert a strong,
positive influence on the communities they serve and are a crucial
element in the economy of New York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body commemorate the 60th Anniversary
of Monnat & Nortz Service Station, of Croghan, New York; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Steve and Peter Monnat, owners of Monnat & Nortz Service
Station.
