LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mark Piscitelli upon the occasion of his
induction into the Mynderse Academy Athletic Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding individuals who distinguish themselves through exceptional
performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest level of
personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mark
Piscitelli upon the occasion of his induction into the Mynderse Academy
Athletic Hall of Fame; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at
the Induction Ceremony, on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the New York
Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, While attending Mynderse Academy, Mark Piscitelli, class of
1969, lettered in football, basketball, and baseball, excelling in each;
he was the recipient of the SMS Aldo Beatini Award for the Outstanding
Mynderse Academy Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Mark Piscitelli's football exploits remain impressive to this
day; his longest run from scrimmage was 95 yds, and, in one game, he
carried the ball 51 times; during his junior and senior years he rushed
for over 1,300 yards and 1,200 yards, respectively; and
WHEREAS, Mark Piscitelli was named to the 1968 All-American High
School Football Team as a Running Back, and he was also chosen to the
All-State Team; Section V Team; and Greater Rochester Team in both his
junior and senior years; and
WHEREAS, Mark Piscitelli lettered in Varsity Baseball in each of his
four years in high school; he had the highest batting average his sopho-
more, junior, and senior years with a .356; .430; and .465 respectively,
and was named Most Valuable Player his junior and senior years; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Mark Piscitelli was a member of the 1964-65
undefeated (14-0) St. Patrick's CYO Basketball Team; and
WHEREAS, Not content to focus only on sports during his time at
Mynderse Academy, Mark Piscitelli was a High Honor Roll Student, a
Member of the Student Council, Student of the Month, and member of Block
M; and
WHEREAS, After graduation from high school, this fine athlete contin-
ued his stellar achievements; he attended Cornell University where he
lettered in Freshman Baseball and Varsity Football, and was a member of
the 1971 Cornell Ivy League Co-Championship Football Team; in 1970, he
was among the Nation's leaders in Kickoff Returns; and
WHEREAS, Although a shoulder injury shortened his football career
during his junior year at Cornell, Mark Piscitelli's commitment to
excellence translated into a successful professional life; upon gradu-
ation, he joined Carnation Company in Long Island, New York, eventually
retiring as Director of Nestle USA's Retail Sales for the Northeast
Division in 2009, after a career of 35 years; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Baldwinsville, New York, Mark Piscitelli has
been accompanied throughout by his wife, Ginny, and their daughters,
Jennifer and Jessica, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his
life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such outstanding accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be recognized by all citizens of this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor Mark Piscitelli for
his extraordinary athletic accomplishments which are a tribute to his
skill, dedication and commitment; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations with
praise and pride to honor Mark Piscitelli upon the occasion of his
induction into the Mynderse Academy Athletic Hall of Fame; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mark Piscitelli.
