LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robert Plant upon the occasion of his
retirement after 16 years of distinguished public service to the Town of
Walworth

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its citizen-
ry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Robert "Bob" Plant upon the occasion of his retirement after 16 years of
distinguished public service to the Town of Walworth, to be celebrated
on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the Carey Lake Banquet and Party House
in Walworth, New York; and
WHEREAS, Born in Rochester, Bob Plant grew up in Penfield, New York;
he attended Monroe Community College, and is a certified Journeyman
Farrier; and
WHEREAS, Serving for eight years as a member of the Walworth Town
Board, Bob Plant will retire from the esteemed role of Town Supervisor,
a position he has held for eight years; and
WHEREAS, For the past 16 years, Bob Plant rendered faithful, conscien-
tious and valuable service to the Town of Walworth, earning the admira-
tion, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, An avid volunteer, Bob Plant has been involved with the Boy
Scouts of America for 38 years, and continues to participate on the Camp
Massaweppee Committee; he has been a member of the Walworth Fire Depart-
ment for 36 years, and was recognized as Fireman of the Year in 1985 and
1986; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that demon-
strated by Bob Plant over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Gail, his two sons,
Mark and Andrew, and grandson, David, all of whom feel privileged to be
a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robert "Bob" Plant upon the occasion of his retirement after 16
years of distinguished public service to the Town of Walworth; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert Plant.
