LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Tom Yale upon the occasion of his
retirement after 16 years of distinguished public service on the
Walworth Town Board
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its citizen-
ry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Tom
Yale upon the occasion of his retirement after 16 years of distinguished
public service on the Walworth Town Board, to be celebrated on Saturday,
January 25, 2014, at the Carey Lake Banquet and Party House in Walworth,
New York; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Walworth, New York, Tom Yale earned a Bach-
elor's degree in Registered Nursing at Brockport State University in
1977; he went on to receive a master's degree in 1987 from the Rochester
Institute of Technology; and
WHEREAS, Prior to his 16 years of service as a member of the Walworth
Town Board, Tom Yale spent six years on the Town of Walworth Planning
Board; and
WHEREAS, An avid volunteer, Tom Yale has been a member of the Walworth
Fire Department for 34 years; he serves on the Board of Directors for
both the Wayne County Cornell Cooperative Extension, and the Wayne Coun-
ty Red Cross, and is a member of the Wayne County Health Advisory Coun-
cil; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he is Chairman of the Board of Advantage Federal
Credit Union, and a member of the board for Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse
Service; and
WHEREAS, For the past 16 years, Tom Yale rendered faithful, conscien-
tious and valuable service to the Town of Walworth, earning the admira-
tion, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that demon-
strated by Tom Yale over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his loving wife, Linda, and
their two beautiful children, Jim and Sarah, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tom Yale upon the occasion of his retirement after 16 years of
distinguished public service on the Walworth Town Board; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tom Yale.
