LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Sharleen Lima upon the occasion of
receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award from the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Sharleen Lima upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award
from the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen,
Inc.; and
WHEREAS, A student at Newburgh Free Academy, Sharleen Lima works with
the Rural Migrant Ministry advocating for farmworkers' rights; she has
attended the Ministry's Leadership Camp for the past eight years, learn-
ing how to lead a group of volunteers and direct group projects; and
WHEREAS, Sharleen Lima plans to study Genetic Counseling at SUNY Alba-
ny, with a minor in pre-law; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Sharleen Lima has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Sharleen Lima, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Sharleen Lima upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship
Award from the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee
Airmen, Inc., and to extend to her best wishes for a future of purpose-
ful success and wellbeing; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sharleen Lima.
