LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Technician Michael Popowich for his many
years of dedicated service to Verizon
WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
give of their time and energies and serve the best interests of their
communities are an asset beyond remuneration and cannot be sufficiently
extolled; and
WHEREAS, Michael Popowich has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Technician
Michael Popowich for his many years of dedicated service to Verizon; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Astoria, Queens, Michael Popowich, in
1987, became a Lineman for New York Telephone, working in Woodside, New
York; and
WHEREAS, After 16 years, Michael Popowich was transferred to College
Point where today, he continues to work as a Lineman; and
WHEREAS, Michael Popowich, who resides in Massapequa Park, Long
Island, is the proud father of three children, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, For the past 27 years, Michael Popowich has been a valued and
exemplary employee whose experience and dependability have always played
an integral part in the success of Verizon; and
WHEREAS, Michael Popowich has worked tirelessly helping to rebuild the
Verizon plant and restoring service to thousands of its customers, both
residential and business, after many storms, including Hurricane Irene
and Super Storm Sandy; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this outstanding technician has been an enormous
asset in the build out of Verizon's FiOS network; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Michael Popowich has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Technician Michael Popowich for his many years of dedicated
service to Verizon; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael Popowich.
