LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Tina Urzan of the Olde Judge Mansion Bed
& Breakfast upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Jeanette Dworkin Small Business Award by the Community Loan Fund
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Tina Urzan has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Tina Urzan of
the Olde Judge Mansion Bed & Breakfast upon the occasion of her desig-
nation as recipient of the Jeanette Dworkin Small Business Award by the
Community Loan Fund on Tuesday, October 29, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Tina Urzan was chosen to receive this auspicious award in
recognition of her perseverance in opening and growing a small business,
and her commitment to the revitalization of North Troy; and
WHEREAS, Small Businesses such as the Olde Judge Mansion Bed & Break-
fast exert a strong, positive influence on the communities they serve
and are a crucial element in the economy of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Tina Urzan purchased the Olde Judge Mansion Bed & Breakfast
in the historic City of Troy, New York, and with the help of her broth-
er, returned the stately old building to its beautiful Victorian
origins; and
WHEREAS, The small business of Olde Judge Mansion Bed & Breakfast has
demonstrated the value of investing in North Troy and bringing back the
pride and vitality the area once had and will have again; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Troy, New York, Tina Urzan is a member of
Friends of North Central Neighborhood Association, Project Safe Neigh-
borhood, Project IMPACT, and the Focus Block in North Central; in addi-
tion, she is a founding member of the Landlord Training Program; and
WHEREAS, Owner of Olde Judge Mansion Bed & Breakfast, Tina Urzan has
served guests from 31 different countries, some of whom requested long-
term accommodations; and
WHEREAS, Tina Urzan has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Tina Urzan has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Tina Urzan has displayed throughout
her life; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tina Urzan upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Jeanette Dworkin Small Business Award by the Community Loan Fund;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tina Urzan.
