LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Isabel Comella upon the occasion
of receiving the distinguished Girl Scout Silver Award, the most presti-
gious of Cadette Scouting honors

WHEREAS, Isabel Comella, through her diligence and rigorous efforts, has
achieved Cadette Scouting's highest honor, the Girl Scout Silver Award;
and
WHEREAS, Isabel Comella is a member of Girl Scouts of America Troop
40098, Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our nation's young people the
values of leadership and sisterhood, and the importance of working with
others, stimulating both mind and body, instilling pride, and encourag-
ing community service and success; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has expanded the horizons of millions of young
women over the decades through the outstanding programs which have made
Scouting an American and international institution; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, Isabel Comella completed a Silver Award community service
project which she planned, developed and executed; and
WHEREAS, For her Silver project, this exemplary Girl Scout organized
and executed a book drive to benefit the Family Reading Partnership;
through her Big Red Bookshelf Girl Scout Book Drive, she collected and
delivered over 240 books, with the goal of supporting early reading; and
WHEREAS, The Silver Award is earned over a two-year period; this
achievement demonstrates Isabel Comella's high character and commitment,
and is a harbinger of her future contributions to her community, the
State of New York, and our nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Isabel Comella upon the occasion of her desig-
nation as recipient of the Girl Scout Silver Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Isabel Comella.
