LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION Honoring John H. Buhrmaster upon the occasion of
his installation as Chairman of the Independent Community Bankers of
America
WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their
professions; and
WHEREAS, John H. Buhrmaster will be installed as Chairman of the Inde-
pendent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) during its National Conven-
tion to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii from March 2nd through March 6th,
2014; and
WHEREAS, The ICBA is a national organization representing nearly 7,000
community banks and more than 24,000 locations; and
WHEREAS, John is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he earned a
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems and Marketing; and
WHEREAS, He is a fourth-generation banker with more than 25 years of
experience in the financial services industry; and
WHEREAS, John currently serves as President and Director of 1st
National Bank of Scotia, where he previously served as Senior Vice Pres-
ident and Senior Lending Officer; and
WHEREAS, He has been active with the ICBA since 2005, and has served
on several of its committees, including ICBA Bancard, Membership, Tech-
nology and Payments, Congressional Affairs, Strategic Planning, the
Federal Delegate Board and Executive Committee; and
WHEREAS, John has also served as treasurer and past vice chairman of
the Independent Bankers Association of New York State, and is a member
and past chairman of the Fidelity National Information Systems advisory
committee; and
WHEREAS, He has also contributed his time to the Niskayuna Central
School District Board of Education, Scotia Rotary Club, Boy Scout Troop
3036, Scotia United Methodist Church, Galway Lake Sailing Club, Niskayu-
na Soccer Club, Niskayuna Baseball League, and as a New York State high
school track official; and
WHEREAS, John and his loving wife, Leslie, are the proud parents of
Jennifer, Amanda, and David Buhrmaster; and
WHEREAS, His expertise, dedication, and enthusiasm will be tremendous
assets to the ICBA and an inspiration to his colleagues; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor John H. Buhrmaster upon his installation as Chairman of the Inde-
pendent Community Bankers Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John H. Buhrmaster.
