LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Swimming
and Diving Team upon the occasion of winning the Section III Class C
Championship

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through rigorous training, mental and physical discipline, teamwork
and a dedicated coaching staff; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
young individuals within our community, who by achieving outstanding
success in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to
their school district and community; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success, and developing a sense
of fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to hereby
recognize and congratulate the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Swimming and
Diving Team upon the occasion of winning the Section III, Class C Cham-
pionship; and
WHEREAS, No team can succeed without talent throughout its entire
roster, as is the case for the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Swimming and
Diving Team: Colleen Ferguson, Rachel Ceparski, Kasia Rybczyk, Eloise
Smith, Megan Corona, Megan Molnar, Jessica Pirro, Ellie Meyer, Mackenzie
McGraw, Kaleigh Nicholson, Haley Buchholz, Halle King, Tara Chalupnicki,
Chloe Strang, Alexis Teachout, Siena Senn, Sarah Parks, Grace Buchholz,
Rebecca Rottger, Maddie Bohrer, Taylor Hill, Rachel Teixeira, Leah King,
Rose Keady, Mary Teixeira, and Kyra Cottrill; and
WHEREAS, During the Section III, Class Tournament on November 8, 2013,
the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving Team picked up 343
points to beat Holland Patent High School that had 324 points, as well
as nine other teams that participated in the sectional; and
WHEREAS, Contributing to the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Swimming and
Diving Team sectional title win was a victory in the 400-freestyle relay
that broke a sectional and school record with a finish time of 3:53.79;
and
WHEREAS, From a strong start to a stronger finish, the Skaneateles
Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving Team has been recognized for its depth
of skills, experience and teamwork, which were gained from a competitive
regular season schedule; and
WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by the Skaneateles Girls Varsi-
ty Swimming and Diving Team is in great part due to the efforts of Head
Coach Jill King and Assistant Coach Katie Rozak, who are skilled and
inspirational mentors, respected for their ability to develop potential
into excellence; and
WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, the outstanding members of the
Skaneateles Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving Team proved to be a
terrific combination of talent, winning their fifth consecutive
sectional title and their eighth sectional title within the past 10
years; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach King and Assistant Coach Rozak did a superb job in
guiding, molding and inspiring members of the Skaneateles Girls Varsity
Swimming and Diving Team toward their goals; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
hereby recognize and congratulate the Skaneateles Girls Varsity Swimming

and Diving Team upon winning the Section III, Class C Championship; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to each team member, Head Coach Jill King and Assistant Coach
Katie Rozak.
