LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Pastor William E. and Reverend Shirley
Ann Morgan of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church upon the occasion of cele-
brating their 15th Pastoral Anniversary in March 2014
WHEREAS, The spiritual guidance and nurturing of the citizens of the
State of New York is of great importance to the vitality and well-being
of our communities; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those men and women of religious commitment
who accept the responsibility of moral leadership and render the wisdom
of human understanding; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Pastor
William E. and Reverend Shirley Ann Morgan of Mount Pleasant Baptist
Church upon the occasion of celebrating their 15th Pastoral Anniversary;
they will be joyously celebrated by their congregation in March 2014;
and
WHEREAS, Fifteen years ago, Pastor William E. and Reverend Shirley Ann
Morgan relocated to Albany, New York, from New York City to preach at
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Pastor William E. and Reverend Shirley Ann Morgan have
brought to their ministry an overwhelming spirit of charity and
compassion, acting from vision and enlightenment in conducting their
administrative and spiritual duties, while always displaying the highest
standards of personal and professional integrity and dedication; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished couple, united in their devotion to God,
have always given enlightenment, guidance and wisdom to the many
entrusted to their care and have administered abundantly and unstinting-
ly to the spiritual and corporal needs of all; and
WHEREAS, Throughout their service, Pastor William E. and Reverend
Shirley Ann Morgan have spearheaded philanthropic effort in the communi-
ty to help those in need, sponsoring biannual clothing drives, and
offering food baskets at Thanksgiving; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Pastor William E. Morgan serves approximately 60
churches in the New York State Baptist Convention as Area Vice Presi-
dent, and teacher; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when persons of
such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention, it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend those indi-
viduals for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Pastor William E. and Reverend Shirley Ann Morgan of Mount
Pleasant Baptist Church upon the occasion of celebrating their 15th
Pastoral Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Pastor William E. and Reverend Shirley Ann Morgan.
