LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Nancy A. Fargo upon the occasion of her
retirement after 30 years of distinguished service to the West Carthage
Housing Authority

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Nancy A. Fargo
upon the occasion of her retirement after 30 years of distinguished
service to the West Carthage Housing Authority; she officially retired
on January 31, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Nancy A. Fargo began her illustrious career working at the
West Carthage Housing Authority in 1984, starting as a part-time account
clerk typist; and
WHEREAS, In 1995, Nancy A. Fargo was named Manager of the Housing
Authority; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure as Manager, Ms. Fargo was successful in
having security cameras installed in the facilities under her care; and
WHEREAS, Nancy A. Fargo holds many professional accreditations,
including the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Offi-
cials, the Northern New York Association of Housing Officials, the New
York State Public Housing Authority Directors Association, and the New
York State Association of Housing Officials; and
WHEREAS, In 2010, Nancy A. Fargo was selected as both the New York
State and the National Manager of the Year by Rural Development; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Ms. Fargo was successful in her
mission to create a place for tenants to call home; and
WHEREAS, For the past 30 years, Nancy A. Fargo rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the West Carthage Housing Authori-
ty, serving with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Nancy A. Fargo was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems, earn-
ing the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nancy A. Fargo upon the occasion of her retirement after 30 years
of distinguished service to the West Carthage Housing Authority; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nancy A. Fargo.
