LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Tim Playford for his heroic efforts as
a member of Albany County EMS upon the occasion of being honored by the
Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post 1040 of the American Legion at its Commu-
nity Awards Ceremony

WHEREAS, Volunteer ambulance corps members are an important part of the
safety net of America's healthcare system; they provide lifesaving care
to those in need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Tim Playford for his heroic efforts as a member of Albany County EMS
upon the occasion of being honored by the Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post
1040 of the American Legion; he will be celebrated by the Post at its
Community Awards Ceremony on Monday, March 3, 2014, in Delmar, New York;
and
WHEREAS, EMT Tim Playford has been designated as recipient of the Fire
Services Lifesaving Award for the important role he played in treating
an elderly resident of Slingerlands, New York, who was trapped in a fire
on September 12, 2013; and
WHEREAS, On many occasions, EMT Tim Playford has acted with bravery
and steady precision in dealing with the risk and drama of emergency
situations; and
WHEREAS, Tim Playford is known within his community for excellence and
professionalism, always going the extra mile in providing care to the
people he serves; his hard work embodies the dedication, compassion, and
respect displayed by emergency responders across this great Empire
State; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of his duties, EMT Tim Playford
has demonstrated his character and his concern for the welfare of
others; he is a tremendous asset to Albany County EMS, and a distin-
guished citizen of the State and Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Tim Playford for his heroic efforts as a member of Albany County
EMS upon the occasion of being honored by the Nathaniel Adams Blanchard
Post 1040 of the American Legion; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tim Playford.
