LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Jennie Mele upon the occasion of
receiving the Girl Scout Silver Award

WHEREAS, Jennie Mele is a member of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson
Troop 60289; and
WHEREAS, Through her diligence and rigorous efforts, Jennie Mele has
earned the Girl Scout Silver Award, the highest and most prestigious
honor accorded to Cadette Girl Scouts; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting cultivates in our nation's young people the
values of sisterhood, the importance of working with others; Girl Scout
activities develop leadership, stimulate both mind and body, instill
pride, encourage community service, and strengthen a commitment to
excellence; and
WHEREAS, To earn the Silver Award, Jennie Mele completed a series of
requirements which included: a skills building process; identification
of issues important to the Girl Scout; exploration of her community; an
action project which she planned, developed and executed; and a
reflection, and sharing of her Silver Award experience with the Girl
Scouting community; and
WHEREAS, The Silver Award symbolizes a Cadette Girl Scout's accom-
plishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as she matures and
works to better her life and the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, Through earning the Silver Award, Jennie Mele has amply
demonstrated her high character and commitment; it is a harbinger of her
future as a leader in her community, New York State, and our nation;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
warmly congratulate Jennie Mele, recognizing her achievement in earning
the Girl Scout Silver Award, and wishing her much success in her endeav-
ors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jennie Mele.
