LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Rebecca Mele upon the occasion of
receiving the Girl Scout Silver Award
WHEREAS, Rebecca Mele is a member of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson
Troop 60289; and
WHEREAS, Through her diligence and rigorous efforts, Rebecca Mele has
achieved the Girl Scout Silver Award, the highest and most prestigious
honor accorded to Cadette Girl Scouts; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our Nation's young people the
goals of building solid values of sisterhood and the importance of work-
ing with others, stimulating both mind and body, instilling pride, and
encouraging community service and success; and
WHEREAS, In order to earn the Silver Award, Rebecca Mele completed a
series of requirements which included: a skills building process; iden-
tification of issues important to the Girl Scout; exploration of her
community; an action project which Rebecca Mele planned, developed, and
executed; and a reflection and sharing of her Silver Award experience
with the Girl Scouting Community; and
WHEREAS, The Silver Award symbolizes a Cadette Girl Scout's accom-
plishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as she matures and
works to better her life and the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, Through earning the Silver Award, Rebecca Mele has amply
demonstrated her high character and commitment; it is a harbinger of her
future as a leader in her community, New York State, and our nation;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
warmly congratulate Rebecca Mele, recognizing her achievement in earning
the Girl Scout Silver Award, and wishing her much success in her endeav-
ors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rebecca Mele.
