LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Coach Rob Gravelle upon the occa-
sion of capturing his 300th career victory as Head Coach of the S.S.
Seward Spartans Boys Basketball Team

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accordance
with its long-standing traditions, to commend notable educators and
athletic coaches who serve the youth of this great Empire State, and who
have distinguished themselves and their schools through outstanding
commitment and exemplary athletic achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Coach Rob Gravelle upon the occasion of capturing his 300th career
victory as Head Coach of the S.S. Seward Boys Basketball Team; and
WHEREAS, Coach Rob Gravelle achieved this historic milestone when his
S.S. Seward Spartans defeated Chester 59-49 in the Section 9 Class C
Championship final on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at SUNY New Paltz,
New Paltz, New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 19 seasons, Coach Rob Gravelle has superbly
mentored and guided young athletes to success on and off the basketball
court; in addition to his duties as Coach, he is the S.S. Seward Athlet-
ic Director and also a sixth grade history teacher; he is well known for
shaping those youths in his care into better people, as well as better
athletes; and
WHEREAS, This skilled and inspirational tutor holds a fantastic record
of 300 wins and 107 losses in his distinguished career; he has led the
S.S. Seward Spartans Boys Basketball Team to seven Section 9 New York
State Public school titles, with the most recent coming this year; he
also has won 13 Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association Cham-
pionships; and
WHEREAS, Coach Rob Gravelle's positive demeanor, selfless commitment,
and caring concern have contributed to his enduring success as a coach
and mentor, earning him the just respect and admiration of his communi-
ty, his peers, and the athletes he has so ably coached; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Coach Rob Gravelle upon the occasion of capturing his 300th
career victory as Head Coach of the S.S. Seward Spartans Boys Basketball
Team; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Coach Rob Gravelle.
