LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Norb Fuest upon the occasion of his
retirement after over 30 years of distinguished service to Morton Salt,
Inc.
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Norb Fuest's remarkable career of professional and personal
service to his town, State and country warrants the recognition and
commendation of this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Norb
Fuest upon the occasion of his retirement after over 30 years of distin-
guished service to Morton Salt, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, For the past 30 years, Norb Fuest rendered faithful, consci-
entious and valuable service to Morton Salt, Inc. as Human Resource
Director; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as Human Resource Director, Norb Fuest served
with loyalty, honor and distinction, earning the admiration, esteem and
affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Norb Fuest has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A highly successful and incredibly busy professional and
community leader, Norb Fuest was chosen as the 2011 Business Education
Council's Partner in Education recipient for his selfless devotion of
time and energy for his work in support of the youth of Wyoming County;
and
WHEREAS, In 1981, as one of the Business Education Council's original
founders, Norb Fuest was instrumental in the formation and implementa-
tion of this non-profit organization; he saw a need to prepare our
future workforce and pulled together many influential people from both
the business and educational communities; and
WHEREAS, An inspiration to all and an exemplary role model for all of
the students it serves, Norb Fuest served as the Business Education
Council Board President from 1981 to 1996, and today, continues to serve
on the Executive Committee; and
WHEREAS, In conjunction with his commitment to the Business Education
Council, some of Norb Fuest's additional contributions include: Attica
CSD School Board Member for six terms, serving as both President and
Vice President, Volunteer for Attica CSD Marching Band, United Way Board
of Directors, Workforce Investment Board of Directors, New York State
Workforce Investment Board, Wyoming County IDA Board Chairman, Genesee
Community College Housing Board President, Foundation for College
Village, Genesee Area Personnel Association, serving as both President
and Treasurer, Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce Board, BOCES Technical
Advisory, Wyoming County Hospital Foundation, Wyoming County Business
Center, Wyoming County Business Development Corporation Board, and Asso-
ciation Genesee Valley Parade Judge; and
WHEREAS, In 2007 to 2008, Norb Fuest received the Ed Galardy Award for
his many years of service on the United Way Board of Directors for Wyom-
ing County; he also was the recipient of the 2008 Albert W. Hawk Award,
and the 2010 Iroquois Trail Council Boy Scouts of America Distinguished
Citizen Award; and
WHEREAS, Norb Fuest's many accomplishments and vision are impressive
achievements that enriched the lives of many individuals, and both his
commitment and drive is an inspiration to witness; and
WHEREAS, His leadership and commitment to the many community efforts
he supports, as well as his guidance and advisement to Morton Salt, Inc.
have contributed to over 30 years of success; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Norb Fuest upon the occasion of his retirement after over 30 years
of distinguished service to Morton Salt, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Norb Fuest.
