LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Tisha Aikins upon the occasion of
being crowned the 2014-2015 Jefferson County Maple Queen

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
those young people who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Tisha Aikins upon the occasion of being crowned the 2014-2015
Jefferson County Maple Queen at the American Maple Museum in Croghan,
New York, on March 7, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Tisha Aikins, the daughter of Larry and Jane Aikins, is a
senior at Alexandria Central School; and
WHEREAS, New York State is the nation's second leading producer of
maple syrup, and Jefferson County, along with St. Lawrence and Lewis
Counties, is part of the State's maple belt; and
WHEREAS, As Jefferson County Maple Queen, Tisha Aikins will be respon-
sible for representing the maple industry and spreading the message of
its importance; and
WHEREAS, Tisha Aikins exemplifies the best potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; she has brought enduring honor to her
family, local community and to the State of New York, and should be
recognized and saluted by all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Tisha Aikins upon the occasion of being crowned the
2014-2015 Jefferson County Maple Queen; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tisha Aikins.
