LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lindsay Stanislowsky upon the occasion
of her designation as 2014 Volunteer of the Year by the Alzheimer's
Association of Northeastern New York on April 4, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lindsay Stan-
islowsky upon the occasion of her designation as 2014 Volunteer of the
Year by the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York at its
"Evening to End Alzheimer's" Gala on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Hall
of Springs in Saratoga Springs, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Alzheimer's Association is the world's leading voluntary
health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate
Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, provide and
enhance care and support for all affected, and reduce the risk of demen-
tia through the promotion of brain health; and
WHEREAS, Lindsay Stanislowsky has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, In the past year, Lindsay Stanislowsky's involvement with the
Alzheimer's Association has been extensive; she was chosen to serve as
the Communications Chair of the Adirondack Leadership Council, a group
that helps Association staff plan events and activities in that area;
and
WHEREAS, She is a certified support group leader and trainer for Memo-
ries in the Making, an art therapy program sponsored by the Alzheimer's
Association; and
WHEREAS, Lindsay Stanislowsky is also a team captain for the Walk to
End Alzheimer's, the Association's biggest Annual Fundraiser; she has
actively involved the staff and family members of residents of Emeritus
at the Landing of Queensbury in the Walk, raising significant funds for
the Alzheimer's Association's programs and services; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Lindsay Stanislowsky has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Lindsay Stanislowsky has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lindsay Stanislowsky upon the occasion of her designation of being
named Volunteer of the Year by the Alzheimer's Association of Northeast-
ern New York, on April 4, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lindsay Stanislowsky.
