LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Trustco Bank upon the occasion of its
designation as 2014 Corporate Philanthropist of the Year by the
Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York on April 4, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Trustco Bank
upon the occasion of its designation as 2014 Corporate Philanthropist of
the Year by the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York at its
"Evening to End Alzheimer's" Gala on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Hall
of Springs in Saratoga Springs, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Alzheimer's Association is the world's leading voluntary
health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate
Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, provide and
enhance care and support for all affected, and reduce the risk of demen-
tia through the promotion of brain health; and
WHEREAS, Each year, hundreds of Trustco Bank employees devote many
hours toward a variety of nonprofit organizations in their community;
The Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York is proud and grate-
ful to be one of those organizations; and
WHEREAS, Over the past several years, Trustco Bank has generously
partnered with The Alzheimer's Association to sponsor an array of
events, including the Caregiver's Conference, the Gala, and the Walk to
End Alzheimer's; and
WHEREAS, Last year, a team of 20 Trustco Bank employees participated
in the Capital Region Walk to End Alzheimer's, and the Bank sponsored
the Walk's "kid area," providing toys and games, face painting, and a
giant inflated bouncy bounce; and
WHEREAS, Trustco Bank and its employees truly understand the needs of
The Alzheimer's Association, and strive to raise both awareness and
funds to support the education and assistance this worthy Association
provides to its community; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
altruistic individuals and organizations it wishes to acknowledge for
their philanthropic contributions to our society which enhance the basic
humanity among us all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Trustco Bank upon the occasion of its designation as 2014 Corpo-
rate Philanthropist of the Year by the Alzheimer's Association of North-
eastern New York on April 4, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Trustco Bank.
