LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dane Clark upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of a William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance
Award by New York State Industries for the Disabled

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
just tribute to those citizens who embody the true American spirit,
demonstrating personal courage and determination; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dane
Clark upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a William B.
Joslin Outstanding Performance Award by New York State Industries for
the Disabled; and
WHEREAS, The annual Joslin Awards Program of the New York State Indus-
tries for the Disabled (NYSID) respectfully acknowledges individuals in
New York communities who strengthen the Preferred Source Program through
jobs well done; and
WHEREAS, Dane Clark, an individual who is on the spectrum of autism,
has overcome communication and social difficulties, depression, and
countless personal barriers throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, Through training, hard work and the unwavering support of his
family, Dane Clark received his driver's license; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, with the help of Northeast Career Planning, Dane
Clark was referred to Focused Technologies where he began as a part-time
Data Entry Operator in January of 2011; and
WHEREAS, Since this time, Dane Clark continues to challenge himself,
and set new goals on a regular basis; he uses his assets and intelli-
gence to adapt to new tasks requested by his supervisor, and since his
first day on the job, he has increased his hours to full-time and is one
of the hardest working employees at the 279 Broadway location; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of his duties and responsibil-
ities, Dane Clark's ongoing efforts and notable achievements have
significantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in his commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, A model employee for his attendance, punctuality and skill,
Dane Clark has been named Star of the Week and has also been interviewed
on video for Autism Awareness Month; and
WHEREAS, Dane Clark loves his job and takes great pride in his abili-
ties; his persistence and determination is a true inspiration, and has
earned him the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such enduring courage and accomplishment are brought to our
attention, it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and commend those
individuals for the edification and emulation of others; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dane Clark upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award by New York State Indus-
tries for the Disabled; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dane Clark.
