LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Vince Lopez upon the occasion of his
retirement after 21 years of distinguished service to the City of Port
Jervis, New York

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Vince Lopez upon the occasion of his retirement after 21 years of
distinguished service to the City of Port Jervis, New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 21 years, Vince Lopez rendered faithful, consci-
entious and valuable service to the City of Port Jervis, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as Director of the Department of Public
Works, Vince Lopez served with loyalty, honor and distinction, governed
by a keen sense of duty in his official acts, and always showing a
unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, Vince Lopez played a pivotal role in implementing many large-
scale infrastructure projects in Port Jervis; he worked with former
Mayor Russ Potter to bring solar energy to city buildings through New
York State Energy Research and Development Authority programs, and over-
saw the recent completion of the Beach Road pump house; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, their children, and
their grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his
life and rejoice in his achievements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Vince Lopez upon the occasion of his retirement after 21 years of
distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Vince Lopez.
