LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Most Senior Reverend Dr. Grace Imuwahen
Osasuyi, AFP upon the occasion of her designation for special recogni-
tion by the Ambassador for Christ International Outreach Ministry and
Gateway Christian Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014
WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Most Senior
Reverend Dr. Grace Imuwahen Osasuyi, AFP upon the occasion of her desig-
nation for special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ Interna-
tional Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center at its 4th Annual
Pastors and Women of Distinction Appreciation Awards Gala on Sunday, May
4, 2014, at Floral Terrace, Floral Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Most Senior Reverend Dr. Grace Osasuyi is being recognized
for her exemplary work and commitment to her community, which serves to
empower others; and
WHEREAS, Born on August 30, 1948 in Edo State, Nigeria, Most Senior
Reverend Dr. Grace Osasuyi holds a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) from J.B.C.
University and Seminary; and
WHEREAS, First Lady and Coordinator General of the Chosen Women
Fellowship International of Christ's Chosen Church of God International,
Most Senior Reverend Dr. Grace Osasuyi was instrumental in the building
of a Christian Center in Nigeria to serve the African community at large
by offering educational, health and wellness opportunities to both the
adult and youth population; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, dedicated to reaching and changing lives within
the community, an elementary school, secondary school, orphanage,
retreat center, and vocational bible school were also established; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 42 years, nine
children, and many grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Most Senior Reverend Dr. Grace Imuwahen Osasuyi, AFP upon the
occasion of her designation for special recognition by the Ambassador
For Christ International Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center
on Sunday, May 4, 2014, noting her unremitting and compassionate faith
and her exemplary service to God, man, and her community; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Most Senior Reverend Dr. Grace Imuwahen Osasuyi, AFP.
