LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Minister Charity Ukasoanya upon the
occasion of her designation for special recognition by the Ambassador
For Christ International Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center
on Sunday, May 4, 2014

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Minister Char-
ity Ukasoanya upon the occasion of her designation for special recogni-
tion by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry and
Gateway Christian Center at its 4th Annual Pastors and Women of
Distinction Appreciation Awards Gala on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Floral
Terrace, Floral Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Minister Charity Ukasoanya is being recognized for her exem-
plary work and commitment to her community, which serves to empower
others; and
WHEREAS, Born of African descent, Minister Charity Ukasoanya is an
Early Childhood Educational Consultant/Health Specialist with the New
York City Administration for Children Services; and
WHEREAS, Working in this capacity for 15 years, Minister Charity
Ukasoanya provides staff and parents of day care centers and the Head
Start program support, training and technical assistance in the areas of
health, mental health and nutrition; her goal is to ensure all children
in New York City receive a quality and holistic early childhood educa-
tion; and
WHEREAS, A resident of New York City for more than 35 years, Minister
Charity Ukasoanya received a Baccalaureate degree in Social Services
from Adelphi University, a Master's degree in Community Health from
Brooklyn College, as well as a Master's degree in Early Childhood Educa-
tion; and
WHEREAS, Minister Charity Ukasoanya was ordained a minister in 1994
from Restoration in Christ Mission Church of Brooklyn, New York; in
addition to preaching, she counsels families within the church on every-
day life experiences, is the Event Planning Committee Secretary and a
member of the Prayer Warrior Team; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Minister Charity Ukasoanya upon the occasion of her designation
for special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ International
Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014,
noting her unremitting and compassionate faith and her exemplary service
to God, man, and her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Minister Charity Ukasoanya.
