LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring June L. Dickten upon the occasion of her
retirement after 25 years of distinguished service to Mount Alverno
Center

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor June Lois
Dickten upon the occasion of her retirement after 25 years of distin-
guished service to Mount Alverno Center; this auspicious occasion was
celebrated with a residents' luncheon which included a ceremony, cake
and a sparkling cider toast, followed by a staff reception at the Center
on Thursday, February 27, 2014; and
WHEREAS, For the past 25 years, June L. Dickten rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Mount Alverno Center, an adult
residence and assisted living program on the Warwick campus of the Bon
Secours Charity Health System; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Communications Clerk, June L. Dickten
served with loyalty, honor and distinction, governed by a keen sense of
duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, June L. Dickten, along with her husband of 54 years, the late
Vern Dickten, were also the musical entertainment at Mount Alverno
Center as well as other facilities, and the Veteran's Administration;
while both sang, June played the keyboard, piano, and drums, and Vern,
played the accordion; in addition, this happy couple loved to Polka; and
WHEREAS, June L. Dickten is the proud mother of one son, Vern, and his
wife, Denise, and the loving grandmother of two granddaughters, Alicia
and Alana, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and
rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with Mount Alverno Center, June L. Dickten
earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor June L. Dickten upon the occasion of her retirement after 25 years
of distinguished service, and to wish her the best in all her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to June L. Dickten.
