LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending David Swift upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Business Person of the Year Award by the
Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, David Swift has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend David Swift
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Business Person
of the Year Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce; he will be cele-
brated at the 29th Annual Chamber Dinner on Friday, April 11, 2014, at
the Cyprus Shrine Center, Glenmont, New York; and
WHEREAS, David Swift is the owner of Swifty's Restaurant and Pub in
Delmar, New York; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man is being recognized for success and growth
of his business enterprise, as well as his community involvement with
local charitable organizations; and
WHEREAS, David Swift has owned Swifty's Restaurant and Pub, a Delmar
landmark, since 2009, and has consistently improved and expanded its
offerings; he also operates locations in Utica and Indian Lake, New
York; and
WHEREAS, David Swift has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, As a local business owner, David Swift supports many local
youth and adult sports teams, hosts fundraising breakfasts, boosts other
local business owners and their businesses, and provides sponsorships
and gift certificates to local community organizations to help their
fundraising efforts; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, David Swift has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which David Swift has displayed throughout
his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend David Swift upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Business Person of the Year Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to David Swift.
