LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Stephen Bub upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Beth-
lehem Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Stephen Bub, of LeGallez Electric has given not only of his
time and energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leader-
ship and consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Stephen Bub
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Lifetime
Achievement Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce; he will be cele-
brated at the 29th Annual Chamber Dinner on Friday, April 11, 2014, at
the Cyprus Shrine Center, Glenmont, New York; and
WHEREAS, Stephen Bub is the owner of LeGallez Electric in Delmar, New
York; and
WHEREAS, An effective business leader, Stephen Bub has been selected
for this esteemed honor in recognition of the strength and success of
LeGallez Electric over the past 100 years of its prosperous existence in
the Town of Bethlehem; and
WHEREAS, LeGallez Electric, founded before 1914 as the Clayton B.
LeGallez Electrical Construction Co. in Slingerlands, New York, is the
oldest family-run business in the Town of Bethlehem, and, based on the
development of electrical power usage in the United States, is one of
the oldest continuously-operated family-run electrical businesses in the
country; and
WHEREAS, The history of Stephen Bub's family also tells the story of
the development of his community; he is the grandson of the company's
original founder, Clayton B. LeGallez, who was an entrepreneur, scien-
tist and radio pioneer; Stephen Bub's father, William, was a founding
member of the Village Volunteers Fife & Drum Corps in the mid 1960's,
which continues to this day, still supported by LeGallez Electric; and
WHEREAS, Stephen F. Bub continued in the family tradition by taking
over the business in the 1980s, and today runs LeGallez Electric with
his wife, Maureen; and
WHEREAS, LeGallez Electric flourishes to this day with many loyal and
long-term customers; a steady and reliable fixture for Town of Bethlehem
residents; and
WHEREAS, Indeed, LeGallez Electric's dedication to the community is
evident in the company's support of many local community organizations
over the course of the last century; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acclaims
Stephen Bub, and LeGallez Electric for outstanding commitment and
contributions to the community it has so ably served for the past 100
years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Stephen Bub upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Stephen Bub.
